New Features for Joomla 1.7

Joomla 1.7 stable release was available on the 19th July 2011. The new features are primarily behind the scenes, and are not as “visible” as features have been for other Joomla upgrades. Yet the new features are very powerful and they include one click upgrades, and Joomla Platform is now split from the cms.

Open source content management system (CMS) Joomla! has recently surpassed the 25 million downloads mark and listed more than 225,000 registered developers at the joomlacode.org website.

Build a Multilingual Site in Joomla! 1.7

Did you know that Joomla! is used by more people who are non-native English speakers than native English speakers? The Joomla community is working hard to improve support for internationalisation in all the areas of the project, particularly for the CMS.

Joomla! from a Japanese viewpoint

For six years I have been struggling to make a living out of Joomla! in Japan. Not many web site developers are using Joomla, but are using WordPress instead. There are many reasons for this. Joomla is a very powerful information publishing tool and I believe Joomla is the next generation home page system for those who are unfamiliar with HTML tags and Dreamweaver, and I am one of them.

Joomla! Day Finland 2011 coming soon

Joomla! Day returns to Finland!

The conference will run Saturday November 5th at Helsinki's popular social meeting spot Hub Helsinki. The event will be an unmatched networking and learning opportunity for the Finnish Joomla! community. Speakers will be attending internationally to discuss the latest developments in Joomla, featuring among others a keynote from Ryan W. Ozimek, President of Open Source Matters, and a presentation by Matias Griese, Lead Developer of the wildly popular Kunena extension.

For the people unaware of Joomla !, it is really an open source content management system that lets you make internet websites. It does not amount to something to apply it and you will make a very simple website right through with a very big robust local community or at the-marketing website.

Joomla! Day New York 2011 Recap

Written by Laura Gordon and Marian Konop

Thanks to the platinum sponsor Seblod, creator of a new CCK for Joomla!, we were able to host a dinner party on Friday night for 50 of our sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and international guests. The wonderful staff at House of Brews made our event quite memorable. It was exciting to have so much Joomla! talent in one room - core team, OSM board members, major component developers, hosting companies, and grateful end users mingled as the excitement level grew for the coming weekend events.

Maybe six years have passed since it was introduced to the Joomla. It was launched on 16 September 2005). This source, topic management group, has attained quickest development and become highly famous. The Internet has many variants and has become very widespread in all areas, in general, for both users and web site owners.

One of the excellent method to not just create a website however also update and add matter and other topics as well as channels, is possibly a Joomla web design.
